Fixed blade knives for camp and everyday carry

Ten belt and neck knives with blades from 1.8 to 4.3 inches, most on a full tang and paired with a Kydex, leather or nylon sheath. They cover camping, hiking, fishing and detail cuts in tight places, where a machete is far too long to handle. A short steel blade gives more precise control on small jobs than anything in the machete line.

What sets REAT blades apart

REAT D2 Fixed Blade Knife Kydex Sheath

Full tang through most of the range

The steel runs through the handle on the D2 belt knives, the bushcraft knives, the machetes, the hatchets and several kunai. With no joint between blade and grip, there is nothing to work loose on a tool that gets swung at brush or thrown at a board. On a fixed blade this is the detail to look for first.

REAT 17-Inch Full Tang Machete with Saw

Saw edges on the yard machetes

The 16- and 17-inch machetes pair a chopping edge with a saw, and the longer 19-, 24-, 25.5- and 27-inch models list machete, knife and saw blade functions. One tool then handles brush, small limbs and campsite clearing. If your yard has both hedges and fallen branches, a saw-equipped model saves carrying two tools.

REAT 9.5 Inch Gray Throwing Knife Set

Coated steel on the throwing sets

Several throwing sets carry a finish over the 440 stainless steel: gray titanium anti-rust coating on the 9.5- and 10.5-inch knives, black anti-corrosion coating on the 7.5-inch trio and a gray coat on the 12-inch kunai. The coating adds corrosion resistance for knives that land in damp grass. Thrown steel picks up scuffs, so treat the finish as a wear layer.

REAT 26 Inch Black Sword Set with Sheath

A sheath with almost every piece

Kydex holds the D2 and 14C28N knives, leather holds the rosewood knife and the 19-inch wood-handled machete, and nylon covers the ABS knives and most throwing sets. The multitool hatchet gets an Oxford sheath with belt loops. The two-piece sword set goes further, with one nylon sheath holding both blades and a shoulder strap for carrying.

Steels, handles and sheath care

Six steels appear across the collection. D2 goes into the two G10-handled EDC knives, 14C28N into the 1.8- and 2.3-inch neck knives, 440C into the rosewood, ABS-handled and spear point neck knives, and 8Cr13 into the double edged knife. The machetes, the katana and three of the throwing hatchet sets use 420 stainless steel, while the kunai and the wood-handled bushcraft knife use 440 stainless.

Stainless steel still needs care. Wipe each blade dry after yard work, fishing or a wet night in camp, and add a thin film of oil before long storage. Let a leather sheath dry away from heat before the knife goes back in; Kydex and nylon can be rinsed and air dried. Cord-wrapped handles hold water, so let them dry fully before the blade is sheathed.

Sheathing a blade before it goes into a pack or truck box is the simplest way of reducing the risk of accidents. Throw only at a proper target with open, empty ground behind it, keep onlookers out of the throwing lane, and store every blade out of reach of children.

Matching the tool to the job

REAT 16-Inch Machete with Saw Back

Clearing brush and limbs around the yard

Gardeners trimming bushes and cutting trees along a fence line get the most from a saw-backed machete. The 16-inch model is short enough to pack in a backpack or toolbox, though large clearing jobs call for a longer blade such as the 24-inch. Gloves and eye protection belong on anyone chopping at head height.

REAT 440 Steel Fixed Blade Bushcraft Knife

A weekend of camping and fishing

On hiking and fishing trips, a 4-inch 440 stainless blade with an 8-inch overall length handles bushcraft chores and skinning. The wood handle has a lanyard hole, so the knife can hang from a loop at camp. Add a short machete or the camp hatchet when firewood is on the list.

REAT 9-Inch Kunai Throwing Knives Set

Backyard target throwing with family

Six 9-inch kunai and a paper target give a group of beginners enough knives for several throws before anyone walks to the board. Three are tan and three are black, which makes it easy to tell two players apart. Between sessions, the folding nylon case keeps the set together and off the lawn.

REAT Mini 440C Neck Knife

Light carry on a day hike

A 2.99-inch 440C spear point worn on a ball chain weighs 0.21 lb, so it stays out of the way until a strap or cord needs cutting. It suits light utility tasks outdoors and nothing heavier; chopping calls for a longer blade.

About the REAT collection

The collection spans five lines: fixed blade knives, machetes, throwing knives, swords, and axes with hatchets. Sizes run from a 1.8-inch neck knife to 27-inch machetes, and most pieces are built on a full tang with an included sheath.

Outdoor activities tie the range together: camping, hiking, bushcraft, garden clearing and recreational target throwing. Several items arrive in a gift box, including the D2 knife, the double edged knife, the red sword and the blue 27-inch machete, which makes them easy gifts for men, fathers and husbands.

Colors give the longer blades some variety. The 27-inch machetes come in silver, blue and red, the 25.5-inch model has a green coating, and the 15-inch machete has a green rubber handle, so a matching pair or a set in one color is easy to put together.

If you already own a belt knife, the machetes and hatchets cover the bigger cutting. For throwing, the kunai and axe sets come in counts of three to twelve, with a mixed axe and knife set for those who want both in one session.

Choosing and caring for your blade

Which fixed blade knife is the smallest?
The micro neck knife has a 1.8-inch 14C28N blade, followed by the 2.3-inch mini neck knife and the 440C neck knife with a 2.99-inch spear point. All three are for small cutting and detail work, not chopping. The 14C28N pair ride in a Kydex sheath with belt attachment, while the 440C model hangs from a ball chain.
How many throwing knives come in a set?
Counts are three, six or twelve. The 12-piece red set uses 6.5-inch kunai, which means fewer trips to the target during long sessions. The two-tone 9-inch set includes six knives, a paper target and a folding nylon case, and the black 7.5-inch kunai also come six to a case.
Can the throwing axes split firewood?
The 3-piece throwing set is built for target throwing, not for chopping firewood or general camp cutting. For that work, the 10-inch multitool hatchet fits: full tang, black wood handle, a secondary edge for bark or rope and three hex wrench holes for gear adjustments. The 9.5-inch throwing axe sits between the two and also works as a camp tool.
Which machete length suits a small garden?
The 15-inch green-handled model and the 16-inch saw-back handle trimming bushes and fit in a toolbox. From 24 inches up, the extra reach helps with cutting trees and clearing a campsite, but a long blade is harder to swing in tight spaces. On the 26- and 27-inch cord-wrapped models the figure is overall length, and the blade itself is 15 inches.
Does every knife come with a sheath?
Yes. The 4-inch D2 knife has a horizontal Kydex belt sheath, the rosewood knife a leather sheath with snap and belt loop, the ABS and gut hook knives a nylon belt sheath, and the double edged knife a sheath for belt or backpack. That keeps the knife easily accessible on the hip without an open edge.
Are there rules on owning or carrying these blades?
Rules on blade length, double edged knives and carry differ by state and city, so check local laws on blade length and carry before you buy, travel with or carry any piece. Throwing knives and swords in particular may fall under separate local rules.
